As I left work tonight I was inspired to start a blog. This coming year will be my last year in college and (the good Lord-willing) my last year waiting tables. Although the good outweighs the bad on the whole, there is still at least one cringe-worthy moment per each shift. Like tonight."Welcome to The Steakhouse. My name is Cel and I'll be taking care of you tonight. What can I get everyone to drink this evening?"
"The kids will have Shirley Temples, she'll have water, and I'll have another beer," overbearing father said.
Oh, geez. It's 9:30 and he wants the two little ones to have sugar water? Ah, father knows best! "Very good, sir. Would you like to start this evening with an appetizer to share?" I asked.
"Yes," he said. "We'd like to start out with that free bread."
